This last few days have been brutal hot for sure. With FS/SS right around the corner, I want ALL TEAM GDR MEMBERS TO BE DRINKING WATER EVERY DAY!

If you already do actively drink water throughout the day (approximately a gallon per day or close), then keep it up! For those of you like me that aren't, please start drinking water throughout the day to prepare your body. If you know you aren't drinking water enough, then don't cheat yourself and put this off till game day or dismiss it by saying 'I'll be fine.'

Safety is the number one concern here, and we need to be looking out for each other and ourselves and preventing heat injuries during the event is my number one priority for the team.

Yes, water intake is incredibly important, especially when outside. I have been drinking a gallon a day for about 2 years now and it really does help. If you aren't ready to set a goal as lofty as 1 gallon a day, a good rule of thumb is to drink half of your body weight in ounces per day. Meaning, if you weigh 200 pounds, you need to drink 100 ounces of water a day. Don't let that number overwhelm you at first, just try to drink a little more every day until you get up to the appropriate amount. Also, be sure that you are in a situation where you can readily use the restroom, as drinking this amount of water without going to the restroom can cause the salt levels in your blood to drop and you risk serious injury (even death!).

I drinkk water all day every day. I might have maybe ten sodas all week. So the water will not be a problem for me.

I am an absolutely insane Coke (not cocaine) addict, so for me it's a concious effort to both curb my 'drinking habits' and make sure I'm taking in enough water.
