Welcome to Team GDR, home of the hardest-working and tightest group of scenario ballers around!
Team GDR was originally founded in 1999 as an internet gaming clan of players brought together by a love of Sierra's hit game, Starsiege:Tribes. Within a few short months the ranks of the GroBdesutchland Regiment (or GDR for short) had swelled, numbering 60+ in 5 countries during its peak in 2000/2001. Most of the GDR's Hall of Fame members joined the unit during this period, and include such famed members as John 'Skorzeny' Iaria, (2.BN/GDR OIC) and Dan 'Beast' Nicholson (former JG.1/GDR OIC and current 1.BN(Paintball)/GDR 2IC).

Although gaming has always been a part of the GDR's history, the gaming clan element of the GDR has slowly given way to paintball over the last few years as the clan ventured further into scenario paintball play and finally began playing together as a coherent scenario team, with the gaming element of Team GDR finally dissapearing entirely in early 2009. Although the gaming portion of Team GDR is now formally disbanded, the team still retains the GDR name as a way of honoring its 'GroBdeutschland Regiment' heritage and former members as we venture forward into the competitive paintball world!
Today, Team GDR acts as a small, highly-flexible special forces team that rountinely conducts difficult missions for our side's commander. Team GDR specializes in long-range recon (LRRP) missions, ambush tactics, hit-and-run raids and critical objective defense. In keeping with the nature of our operations, we model our kit on the US Army Special Forces, with our current uniform being US Army pattern ACUs with custom GDR name tapes and unit insignia. All Team GDR members currently use Tippmann markers as primary arms, but this is not a requirement for those interested in joining.
Prospective members are highly encouraged to attend an event with us before making a decision on applying to join Team GDR. This gives both you and the team a chance to see how well you mesh with the group.
